Laura Bush, DMSc, PA-C, is a licensed physician assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She joined Fayette Area Dermatology in Fayetteville, Georgia, in 2007. The practice also has locations in Griffin and Zebulon, Georgia. 

In 1991, Laura graduated with honors from the Emory University Physician Assistant program in Atlanta, Georgia. After earning her Master of Medical Science, she returned to school for her doctorate. Laura received her Doctor of Medical Science in advanced professional practice of dermatology from the University of Lynchburg in Virginia in 2020.

While Laura started her career in family and emergency medicine, she now focuses on the clinical diagnosis of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. She enjoys treating patients of all ages. 

At Fayette Area Dermatology, Laura uses advanced technology, such as laser treatment, to treat skin conditions. She also uses her expertise to treat cosmetic concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and broken blood vessels. Laura is an expert Botox® Cosmetic injector and also performs radiofrequency (RF) microneedling and fillers.

Laura is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA), the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants (GDPA). She has also served on the GDPA board for six years and is a current Director at Large for the SDPA.

In 2018, Laura received the inaugural GDPA PA Leader of the Year award and was honored as an AAPA Distinguished Fellow in 2019. When she isn’t providing compassionate care for her patients, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and children outdoors.
